Since the current Cadillac Escalade received its most recent refresh in 2014, industry experts don't expect to see a major update for the 2019 model. However, they do think there will be cosmetic changes both inside and out that we can look forward to. When the 2019 Escalade rolls out, here's what we'll likely see. New Exterior Style The current Cadillac Escalade offers a sophisticated and unmistakable look with sharp corners, chrome accents, and brilliant LED lighting. It's unlikely the manufacturer will make any significant changes to the outside of the SUV, but there may be some small updates. The refreshed style should bring larger LED headlights and taillights and a redesigned grille that sits a little lower on the vehicle. more The bumpers could become more pronounced, and it's possible the air intake will also get bigger. While the overall profile won't change, expect to see some small details get reworked, such as different alloys and new door handles. It's also possible we'll see up to two new exterior colors and a few new wheel designs. Another Engine Option Currently, the Cadillac Escalade comes with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that works with a 10-speed automatic transmission to generate 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. While this engine has more than enough power to offer an 8,300-pound towing capacity, it should also complement what will likely be a new 4.2-liter V-8 twin-turbo engine that will produce somewhere around 500 horsepower. The same engine should also power the performance-oriented 2019 Escalade V. However, instead of offering 500 horsepower, it will likely produce at least 600. Updated Infotainment System GM is working on a new infotainment system with more advanced features, and if it's ready in time for the 2019 Cadillac Escalade release, this SUV will definitely be one of the first vehicles to offer it. The current infotainment system has an 8-inch touch-screen display, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration, an auxiliary audio port, and five USB ports. Industry insiders believe the new system, on the other hand, will likely include a few improvements, like a large touch-screen display in genuine leather and wood veneer and a smaller screen for the new instrument cluster. The new system might also be enhanced with the addition of several entertainment websites, including Hulu, YouTube, and Netflix. These new capabilities will be especially exciting for anyone using the available rear seat entertainment system. More Comfortable Interior Inside, the car manufacturer will likely try to focus on making the vehicle even more comfortable. It’s December, which means snow, sleet, and ice in our area can arrive at any time. We thought it might be useful to share some tips for driving in winter weather, especially if you're traveling out of town for the Holidays! Accelerate and decelerate slowly. Be sure that you gradually ease into the gas or break when the roads are slick, to avoid spinouts. Drive slowly. Even if the roads aren’t terrible, black ice paired with speed can be a recipe for disaster. Be sure to slow down and take your time when the temperature is below freezing. Increase your spacing between yourself and the vehicle in front of you. Allow for plenty of stopping room, in the event that your car begins to slide. Test your brakes before you get out on the roadway. Come to a few harsh stops in your driveway, before you venture out, to test the road conditions and your brakes with the slippery roads. If you can avoid it, don’t come to a complete stop. If you can safely coast through an intersection without having to come to a stop, or to make a turn, you’re likely to keep traction longer than if you stop completely. Slow and steady wins the race. When faced with a hill, don’t hit the gas too fast and try to gain too much speed. Take your time, drive slowly and steadily until you reach the top of the hill. If you can avoid it, stay inside.
